Phil, a name that conjures up emotions
Phil, a name that
conjures up emotions
of all varieties in the heart of each one of us. But who is Phil Webb? What
makes him tick? How did he acquire those finely-chiselled features? What is
there about Phil that has never been exposed in public before? Persevere,
dear reader, and you will be none the wiser.
Phil is an Essex
man through and through. He cut his teeth in the town that gave us the Ford
Popular 100E, the Ford Anglia 105E and other such classics (including the
Ford Classic). Yes, Dagenham was the place.
He began his working life as a
Science teacher but soon felt called to full-time Christian work in his
local church. He has led four churches since then in Chelmsford, Swindon,
and most recently in Dereham, Norfolk, leading churches in growth through
teaching God's word.
Phil and Pat
pioneered the work at Letton Hall, a Christian Conference Centre in Norfolk
for three years and Phil remains a trustee of the centre.
Prior to joining us here at Harefield Phil has been an
itinerant Bible teacher. Those of us who have heard Phil teach know that
he has a rare gift of being able to open up the scriptures and pass the
understanding and insight on to others in a meaningful and practical way.

God dramatically took Phil 'out of service'!
God dramatically
took Phil 'out of service'
during January
2004 and during the next 12 months, being 'out of action', God was
challenging him. Challenging many aspects within his life and ministry. God
re-envisioned him and guiding him to a church leadership role.
With his
teaching and fellowship at Harefield over recent years, God had been placing
Phil's name on the hearts of the members of Harefield, it was just a
question of time before God told this to Phil and Pat.
Phil Webb has
joined the leadership team from 1st April 2005 as full-time pastor.
Pat was born in North Africa
Pat was born in
North Africa
of missionary parents. She trained as a nurse at Westminster Hospital, and
has worked as a nurse, a midwife and more recently as a health visitor in
Norfolk.
Pat is associated with
Ellel Ministries, an organisation
which helps Christians overcome their problems through counsel and prayer
ministry. She has developed her gifts in this area and believes that God
wants to use her to be a blessing to others.
