Our Mission is to spread the
News
We understand the
Mission that God has given us
is to
witness to Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit (Acts
1:8)
both locally, nationally and internationally.
The purpose of this
witness is to make disciples of all nations, baptising them and teaching them to
obey everything that Christ has commanded (Matthew
29:19-20).
As a church, Harefield
is involved
in local, national
and international mission – that is, we seek to be Christ’s witnesses and
make disciples, both in Harlow and overseas. We do not wish to emphasise local
mission at the expense of world mission, or to emphasise international mission
at the expense of what God is doing in our nation.
It is our policy to be outward
looking
It is our policy to
be outward looking – to be constantly concerned that the gospel is reaching
people that need Christ.
In keeping with the
Great Commission, we are concerned that new believers are established in their
faith and incorporated in a local church. |
It is the aim
of Harefield Church to be proactive in mission.
By this we mean that the leadership and the
church will constantly review needy areas in Harlow,
nationally and
overseas with a view to sending and supporting individuals / missionary teams to assist and plant
churches in those areas.
The Church should be a prayerful people, seeking the direction of the Holy
Spirit in mission.
The leaders, the church and our world
family need to know God’s
leading when it comes to the time to send missionaries to the field.
A sense of loving accountability is encouraged through the missionaries
giving regular reports to the church of what God is doing in and through
them.
Harefield
currently supports people
financially and in prayer in the UK,
Europe, South America and Africa. |
